Presidents Xmas-Letter 2018
Dear Euhofa members,
I do hope that you are all fine and your schools, universities, institutes are running successfully and students are ambitious and eager to learn and leave our institutes well educated for the national and international hospitality world.
In this time of the year, you will finally be able to find some time to sit back, relax and spend the rest of the year together with your family and friends. It is also this time of the year to have the chance to connect with you, dear Euhofa family.
We experienced a wonderful 57th Euhofa International Congress in Lausanne in November 2018 - have those of you who have attended it already had the possibility to share the insights with your colleagues or use some of the input, which we got during the congress?
It has been a highlight - from the start to the end - the well-organized congress team, the interesting speeches and workshop sessions - every day another focus.
The semi academic visits as well as the partners´program have been of high standard and the dinners exceptional. The Gala was outstanding - especially the Chaplin´s World and the surprise reception which all enjoyed thoroughly. We celebrated a couple of birthdays - Michel´s as well as 125 years of EHL - once again, thank you very much Michel Rochat, Sam Salvisberg and Odile Tornare - for all the preparation and dedicated work during the congress!

Those of you who were not able to travel and join can read further information and details in the congress newsletter, which has already been sent out and which is available on our internal Euhofa International website.
During the General Assembly in November 2018, we welcomed four new honorary members who you all know, who have dedicated a lot of work for Euhofa International: Samuel Salvisberg (Switzerland), Filiep de Fraye (Belgium), Sören Kühlwein Kristiansen (Denmark) and Harry de Bruijn (The Netherlands).
During the General Assembly we again reminded about the extra member benefits: please make use of the different offers - like the free access to different resources, which the teachers can use for the education of our students in our institutes. Please consider the “grant funding scheme” for a common project between two Euhofa member schools - if you would like to use it, please send a project description to the Secretariat General. Further detailed information can be downloaded from the “Member Benefits Brochure” from our internal Euhofa Website – please login with “Euhofa2016”.

The 58th EUHOFA Congress organizing member schools in Nepal have already put together a high standard congress programme with the theme „Sustainable Himalayan Hospitality “. It will take place from Wednesday 27 November - Sunday 1st December in Kathmandu, Nepal, please save the dates!
To finish I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year – and enjoy our short movie – Peter Jones has prepared it – thanks Peter!
All the best for 2019 and I am looking forward to remaining in contact with you and hope to meet many of you during our next congress in Nepal!
